Primary Goals for Being Trained on Disciplinary Skills
Identify up to 3 primary areas you want to focus on during Disciplinary Skills Training. The goals should be challenging (so you remain committed) and achievable (realistic). To help you, try answering the question:
“How specifically would you like YOU, or PEOPLE, or PERFORMANCE, to be different after training?”
For each focus area, write a simple heading, and do your best to describe “measurable” results. That is, how you will know you have succeeded or are on track. For example:
GOALS:
|
- ME:
Deal with cases on balance of probabilities.
|
- PEOPLE:
Know and exercise rights in matters of discipline.
|
- PERFORMANCE:
Use internal as well as external processes for dealing with matters of discipline.
|
I’ll know I have succeeded when:
|
I am able to institute disciplinary action, or conduct a disciplinary hearing
I am able to effectively handle hearings and reach reasoned decisions on the basis of evidence presented.
|
Identify and categorise transgressions.
Implement appropriate disciplinary procedures.
Represent employees at a disciplinary hearings.
|
Competent people who are able to institute disciplinary actions.
Competent people who are able to conduct disciplinary hearings procedurally and substantively fairly.
